About the devices and interactive compositions

For a number of years Richard Hoadley has been investigating the development of a series of devices investigating links between music performance and expression and physical expression.

Currently, the compositions and projects include:

• Touching Sound (composition)
• Touching Sound (therapy)
• Triggered
• 128 Haiku
• HCI 2009

The devices include:

• Digiphone
• Gaggle
• Gagglina (a single, mini-gaggle unit)
• Wired
• Threads
• Metapiano

These devices have been supported by Anglia Ruskin University Digital Performance Laboratory and CoDE.

In collaboration with a number of others, including Tom Hall, Jane Turner, Cheryl Frances-Hoad I am in the process of investigating further new developments in the links between dance, movement and music.
