You can use the caps lock keyboard if you don't have a keyboard handy to experiment
Concentrate principally on the Logic instruments which are in the majority synthesisers of various descriptions

Choose one to investigate in more depth
Choose different 'views'
Experiment in general, but keep an eye out in particular for 'midi cc' controls
